Air Smiles Day for the Illsley Family – London Biggin Hill Airport – 29th September 2018
On Saturday 29th September, we ran an Air Smiles Day at London Biggin Hill Airport for the Illsley Family. Everyone spent the morning with the Airport Fire Service, who put on a fantastic display of their equipment. After lunch, the family were given a tour of the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar and taken up for a unique flight in the Airvan. Whilst in flight, the Spitfire made an appearance outside the window – such a special experience for the family! Archie & Charlie also received a very special message from Ben Murphy, Red Bull Air Race pilot, former leader of the RAF Red Arrows and Head of the Blades Aerobatic & Race Teams – the boys adore Ben, so this certainly put some smiles on their faces too!
The event was sponsored by one of our individual supporters; we’re so thankful to Norman for enabling us to make this day happen. A big thank you to everyone involved with this event too – London Biggin Hill Airport, Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar, Airport Fire Service, Peter – pilot, Mike – photographer, the Lookout Café and Ben Murphy – we really appreciate all your kindness, generosity and continued support with our Air Smiles Days.
This video highlights the day, showing those smiling faces in action! A big thank you to Peter Brown from Baywindow Creative (www.baywindowcreative.co.uk) for shooting and editing this video for us – what a wonderful memoir of the day for everyone!
